Little Fenix

Many of you probably know that Fenix has really struggled with his communication. Brett at one point called Fenix mute boy until Fenix's not talking really became an issue. We started Fenix on speech lessons when he was 2 and a half because he wasn't even trying to communicate and had no interest to. Fenix met with Tye every Tuesday. We saw little progress and recommended for him to be tested for borderline austism. When we moved to Nevada we found out that the state had a great program called Child Find which puts children with disabiliities into a pre-school program. Within the last year and a half, Fenix has gone from only being able to say car, to speaking in complete sentences and repeating everything we say. He can spell his first and last name and knows his colors and alphabet. Fenix loves school especially riding the bus everyday. We love Fenix so much and we are so grateful for how hard he has tried this year to learn. We are proud of him and are thankful for the joy he brings to our family.

Hanging @ the Reef....

Bretts' schedule has been so hectic lately, we thought we would take the kids to the Shark Reef @ The Mandalay Bay. We all had so much fun and enjoyed our family time together. My camera batteries of course died, so was only able to take a few shots...We had a blast!

Kendall checking out the Crocodile

Fenix posing with the Croc, he thought it was cool

Kendall checking out the tank

Our teenager Taylor, is really bored and is ready to go eat.

Those are some pretty huge fish

Tried to get more pictures of the sharks....again, camera issues.

Happy Daddy Day

This morning as I woke Kendall up, I told her remember it's Father's Day...She ran into my room and yelled, Happy daddy day...
I would just like to take a moment to express how grateful I am for my father. My father is a convert to the church, his family is primarily Catholic and were not pleased to hear he converted to Mormonism. My dad is such a great example, he has always had a wonderful testimony of the gospel and demonstrated it, in his selfless service. He always made sure we were in church every Sunday, we woke up early to read our scriptures and always encouraged us to seek our Heavenly Father in prayer. He has been a great missionary to the Native people, doing anything for them. I am thankful for his strength and his faith in raising me in the wonderful gospel. He truely is my hero.

I am so very thankful for my husband Brett. Brett met me when I was a single parent raising Taylor. I was very used to men in the LDS church judging that I was a single parent, that seemed to keep them away however not Brett. Brett saw me for who I was and not the mistakes I made. Brett has loved Taylor like she was his and I couldn't ask for a better dad for her. Brett is such a loving husband, friend and father. He truely loves his children and would do anything for them, he is our hero.

RAIN turns 13!

Thirteen years ago, (June 9th) my water broke at 2:30am. I was 20 and I had no idea what was happening, I thought I was peeing, uncontrollably. I sat in the restroom wondering, if this was ever gonna stop! I then called for my mom, who said immediately said, "It's time to go to the hospital!" Taylor was born exactly 12 hours later, at 2:32pm. Right before she was born, my father noticed it started raining...I'll never forgot....He said, "Beth, you should name the baby Rain, it's a unique name and you will always remember the moment you had her." I looked at him, thinking are you crazy! I was set on naming my daughter Taylor Denise. I always liked the name Taylor and Denise was after a very good childhood friend. I knew it was going to he hard raising Taylor alone, however I felt in my heart this was the right choice. As time has gone on, Taylor has taught me so much about myself, she has been such a wonderful daughter and has always loved me regardless of the decisions I have made, as her mom. Taylor has such a loving heart and we are so blessed to have her as our daughter! Happy Birthday Taylor.

Miss Makeover

As you may know, Kendall loves to play Beauty Salon. Everytime however, Kendall tends to be her own client. Yes she pulls out the scissors, and the razor....She cuts here, she cute there, before u know it, she has cut everywhere! Now the first time, I said okay all kids do this, then there was a second and a third and even a forth! Lucky for us, Aunt Mandy has come to the rescue and has salvaged what she can! I think Kendall probably will have the pixie cut for the rest of her life.

Before (the first time) After (the first time)

Before (the 2nd time) After (the 2nd time)

As of lately Kendall has taken quite a liking to my makeup, always wanting to give me makeovers only so she can get one done herself. She likes her toes and finger-nails painted. As I removed all her makeup this evening, she starts crying. She looks in the mirror and says, But mom I'm not beautiful anymore! Wow she's only 4!!

NENNY DID IT!!

Yesterday as Fenix was giving me one of his juicy kisses I noticed his teeth looked odd....Then I saw it, his front bottom tooth was hanging too far forward! Then right in back, I saw a tooth peeking out. So the new tooth was trying to kick the old one to the curb! Poor buzzy, the tooth wasn't even loose! This morning Brett tore the tooth out of Buzzy's mouth and all little Fenix said was Ouch! My boy is becomming a man...well kinda....Then we started noticing that thru-out the day we would ask about his tooth, his response was....It hurts, Nenny did it!!! Always trying to put blame on his sister. At least this time, she was innocent!

Summer time

Now that I am unemployed...I have all the time in the world to spend with the kids enjoying the wonderful Las Vegas summer. The city built an awesome park right up the street so the kids are constantly wanting to chill at the water park area and then hit the playground. They are growing so fast!! My little buzzy and nenny....
